Church Community

It’s time to get back to church and I don’t mean online or chat groups. I mean in person at a local church. We were never meant to be alone in this world, Even when God created man He realized that Man needed someone else to share life with so God created Woman.

Genesis 1:27(KJV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

  • God created Man and Woman in Genesis 2:4-25(KJV)

Genesis 2:18(KJV) Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

We are a people that need each other in every aspect of life. We are a Church community caring for one another, praying for one another, and living life together with one another.

Jim Nelles a Fox News writer states some facts about the decline in people not returning to their religious community.

The COVID pandemic was devastating to the collective religious community, with one in three practicing Christians dropping out of church completely and one in five Americans saying they now attend in person less often than they did before the pandemic.

when people leave their religious community, they are often left to face the world alone, or worse, they develop an unhealthy “online” addiction, as they look to replace their religious community with any community. People are less and less able to turn to close friendships for support. In 1990, 27% of Americans reported having three or fewer close friends. Today, that number is 49%. Nearly 40% of Americans report only having online friendships, while 12% of Americans report having no friends at all.

In addition, suicide has increased in correlation with people leaving the church. “Suicide rates increased 37% between 2000-2018 and decreased by 5% between 2018-2020. However, rates nearly returned to their peak in 2021.” When people lose hope and consider suicide, not having a priest, rabbi, or iman to talk with facilitates the taking of one’s own life.

There is not just a downside to the decrease in religious affiliation, there is a loss to society. Participation in organized religion, no matter what the religion, has several benefits. People who are active in religious congregations tend to be “happier and more civically engaged than either religiously unaffiliated adults or inactive members of religious groups,” per Pew Research. These people also volunteer to a greater extent and donate more money to charities.

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have concluded, “Most studies have shown that religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better health outcomes, including greater longevity, coping skills, and health-related quality of life; less anxiety, depression, and suicide.”

Final Note:

Let us all get back to our faith and church community.

What a great way of telling the story of Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection.

Let us never forget what Christ did for us on that day He gave all of himself (The perfect lamb) for you and me so that we could be forgiven of our sins and so we can have every lasting Life with the Father.

John 3:15-17(KJV)

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is pivotal to our Christian faith. He’s alive and well on planet Earth.

  2. What a wonderful way then to share the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then through music.

Battle Belongs

Phil Wickham – Battle Belongs (Official Music Video)

?️LYRICS

When all I see is the battle, You see my victory
When all I see is the mountain, You see a mountain moved
And as I walk through the shadow, Your love surrounds me
There’s nothing to fear now for I am safe with You
So when I fight, I’ll fight on my knees
With my hands lifted high
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
And every fear I lay at Your feet
I’ll sing through the night
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
And if You are for me, who can be against me? Yeah
For Jesus, there’s nothing impossible for You
When all I see are the ashes, You see the beauty
Thank You God
When all I see is a cross, God, You see the empty tomb
So when I fight, I’ll fight on my knees
With my hands lifted high
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
And every fear I lay at Your feet
I’ll sing through the night
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
Almighty fortress, You go before us
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
You shine in the shadow, You win every battle
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
An almighty fortress, You go before us
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
You shine in the shadow, You win every battle
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
An almighty fortress, You go before us
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
You shine in the shadows, You win every battle
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
So when I fight, I’ll fight on my knees
With my hands lifted high
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
And every fear I lay at Your feet
I’ll sing through the night
Oh God, the battle belongs to You
Oh God, the battle belongs to You

Ephesians 6:13-18(KJV)

While his instructions for internal relationships centered on respect and unity, his concern in these verses is based on a recognition of the hostility for which Christians must prepare. Thus he calls on them to be strong and equipped to do battle against those opposing the gospel. He uses military imagery to help convey the nature of the conflict. He then concludes with a personal appeal to the Ephesians to be ready for the opposition that they will face and to support him in the battle he is enduring.

Ephesians 6:18(KJV) In this section on prayer, Paul first exhorts the Ephesians to always be in prayer. He says that they should be praying at all times. This prayer is to be done according to the Spirit. As they are living a life of prayer, they are to also be alert. Paul previously discussed that the schemes of the devil were multifaceted (Ephesians 6:11–12(KJV)), so it is pertinent for believers to be aware and always ready for the spiritual opposition they are sure to face.

God and Jesus and angels all back me up

1 Timothy 5:21-22(MESSAGE)

God and Jesus and angels all back me up in these instructions. Carry them out without favoritism, without taking sides. Don’t appoint people to church leadership positions too hastily. If a person is involved in some serious sins, you don’t want to become an unwitting accomplice. In any event, keep a close check on yourself. And don’t worry too much about what the critics will say.

WHATEVER IS HOLY

When we examine the eight uses of the word pure in the New Testament, we see that they fall neatly into two buckets: personal and relational. This word is used to describe either personal purity or purity that is seen only as we interact relationally with those around us.

On a personal level, followers of Jesus are called to be pure in their conduct. Paul told Timothy, “Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure [hagnos—(pronounced hawg-NAHS)]” (1 Timothy 5:22(KJV)). The Greek version of the Old Testament sums up this idea when it says, “The way of the guilty is crooked, but the conduct of the pure [hagnos] is upright” (Proverbs 21:8(KJV)).

Each of these verses uses this concept of purity on a personal level. They refer to a believer’s conduct—the actions and behaviors they are to have. Our actions are to be unstained and “set apart” from the immoral craziness of the world around us. We show our purity in everything from our words to our sexuality to our honesty to our business ethics. We are to mimic the righteousness and set-apart nature of God himself.

Another equally important aspect of this call involves how we interact with those around us. James 3:17(KJV) lists relational traits that define what true wisdom looks like: “But the wisdom from above is first pure [hagnos], then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” These are all relational traits. You can’t demonstrate these traits without other people.

Holiness is just as much a relational characteristic as it is a personal one. So which call is given in Philippians 4:8(KJV)? The verse tells us to think this way, but it’s one of those rare verses that doesn’t say whether this purity is personal or relational. In the absence of any contextual clues, combined with the fact that the concept appears in a generic list, we can only assume that the fullness of hagnos, in both it’s personal and its relational setting, must be in play. Bottom line: the call to think about “whatever is pure” means that we are to be good and relate well. These form the defining characteristics of our holiness.

COMMENTARY

5:21 in the presence of God and Christ Jesus and the highest angels. In Greek, there is a single article before “God and Christ Jesus.” Paul was viewing God and Christ as a conceptual unit. The article is then repeated in front of “the holy angels” as a second witness to his charge.

holy angels, “chosen angels.” Israel was a chosen people (Rom 9:4(KJV)); Gentiles, in turn, became a “chosen people” (1 Pet 2:9(KJV); cf. Rom 11:7(KJV)) and believers God’s “chosen ones” (Mark 13:20(KJV)). This is the only place in the NT where angels are spoken of as “chosen.”

without taking sides, “without prejudging” (prokrima)—to draw a conclusion before all the facts are in evidence.

showing favoritism. The Greek word prosklisin means to incline toward something or someone. In the NT it bears a negative sense of bias or prejudice.

5:22 Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader. Mē in Greek followed by the present imperative means to stop an action in progress. It implies that Timothy was hurrying to replace elders without due consideration.

appointing a church leader, “lay hands on.”

Do not share in the sins of others. Mē in Greek followed by the present imperative means to stop an action in progress.

Keep yourself pure. The word “pure” also occurs in 5:2, with respect to Timothy’s relationship with younger women.

Still going….

When you seem at your worst: keep holding on. When it seems your faith is as small as it can get; keep holding on through prayer!

Often times through my journey it seemed I would give up! I kept hearing Christian teachers and preachers in my head saying to stay strong. I would remember the scripture that says: ” Come unto me all ye that are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls…Matthew 11: 28-29(KJV)

All God asks of us is to be faithful. God asked His own son to be faithful and fulfill the earthly plan by coming to earth in the form of a human. Even in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus had to pray in agony until droplets of blood seeped through the pores of his forehead. He was agonizing before God so he would not turn and run. Who in their right mind wants to put themselves over to be mutilated and tortured? Jesus had to get the mindset of the Father. He came through victorious because He sought the will of God.

You also will come through victorious! Keep quoting scripture that strengthens you and encourages you to continue to turn the battle over to God!

Keep going so that you can say to others as a testimony: Still going for Christ!
